The territory

Mosciano S. Angelo, located a few kilometers from the Adriatic coast and an hour from the Gran Sasso chain in Abruzzo, lies on the ridge between the valleys of the rivers Tordino (south) and Salinello (north). In the agricultural landscape, the territorial spontaneous vegetation is frequently interrupted by beautiful and extensive vineyards whose rows characterize the entire landscape benefiting from a special microclimate, but also by olive groves which supply the precious fruits of the many small mills scattered throughout the territory. The whole landscape contains treasures, which from the Middle Ages up to today tell about the culture and the economic and agricultural organization of the land.

This district enjoys an excellent geographical position, since it is easily accessible and connected to major transportation systems of the national network mainly related to the Adriatic coast and the Tyrrhenian corridor. The area is adequately infrastructured when you consider that almost all of the production areas is easily served by fast-flowing sections of road or through the primary highway link between the A24 (Teramo / L’Aquila / Rome) and the A14 (Bologna / Bari ), motorway (Villa Vomano / Teramo / Mosciano S. Angelo), the local and the national rail network, in addition to the freeway "Teramo-Mare" (direction sea).

The primary regional road structure includes major roads that take primary importance in terms of links between sub-regional rivers, providing medium to high levels of service.

Beyond the road networks, particularly important is the provincial and municipal network, which are the fundamental system for the balance and development of the whole area.
